I apparently can’t help myself

Well, I’ve done it again. I found myself with some extra money and I’ve booked two more trips LOL. I recently was back in the States for training, and we get paid a meal and living expenses stipend when we are traveling for work. I finally got paid from that trip and found myself with an unexpected bonus on money. (Any time I’m paid for work travel, it’s basically imaginary money in my brain until I’m paid out on the back end, so it’s always like a nice Christmas surprise in the middle of the week!). And what did I do with this bonus money? Immediately book two separate trips, of course.

So as most of you are aware, I have a Belgium road trip coming up this month, my Scotland road trip in June, and Switzerland in August. In addition to those, I am now going to Paris this weekend with my travel bud Jessie. We are doing a whirlwind 12 hour day in Paris and will be taking the train back and forth from Luxembourg. So far, on our itinerary, we will be hitting up the Eifel Tower, the Arc de Triumphe, Notre Dame, and the Catacombs. We will also be saying hi to Jessie’s mom who happens to be on a trip to Paris herself, so that will be fun! I’ve never had Paris very high on my bucket list because I’ve heard mixed reviews about the city, but I’m really excited for the one day there so I can say that I’ve been (technically, I was there as a baby, but as I repeatedly tell my dad, if I don’t remember it, it does not count) and to maybe practice some French and then get laughed at LOL. I’ve been trying to learn French on my own and definitely only know a few phrases, but if I can order a coffee in French or something, I will call it a good day.

The other trip I booked is a 4 day visit to Prague, Czech Republic in July. This one is through the base’s Information, Tickets and Tours program, which is super nice for me. I just paid up front and they book the hotel and excursions for me, so I basically just get to go have fun with minimal headache. I’m an expert travel planner, but it does take a good amount of effort, so just showing up and exploring a new country is going ot be awesome. I don’t know the full itinerary yet, but I do know that we will be doing a guided walking tour and some cuisine tastings, which will be fun. Once I know more, I will be sure to post an update with all of my activities.

With 5 upcoming trips, I have had to make sure my calendar is all aligned, but I know I’m going to have an awesome summer with activities for the next 3 months. I cannot wait to tell you all about my trips; I’m literally counting down the days. Hope everyone is doing well and receiving all of my air hugs!
