Well, my last night in the States has quickly arrived. I am not going to lie, I am pretty sad to be leaving again. And that’s not to say that I am not looking forward to the next 7 months of more learning, traveling, and adventures in Europe! Because I totally am. But it was soooo nice to be home. Home is so comfortable and it is full of friends and family and love and laughter. (I know that was a terrible sentence grammatically speaking, but that’s how I said it in my brain so I decided to write it exactly the same way LOL). But seriously, being home for the holidays was a crazy whirlwind in the most amazing way.
Once I arrived home, my mom and I jam-packed Christmas movies, decorating, and cookie-baking into the three days before Christmas. Then we had many family bonding events such as a few hikes, indoor rock-climbing, and Holiday Baking Championship watching (a cooking show that my fam has gotten into). After a completely normal New Years Eve (which means I went to bed around 10 like usual), my mom and I finished some last minute shopping. Today has been busy with packing and planning our Ireland trip for March.
It always surprises me how quickly time passes when you are an adult. I know the cliché phrase is “when you are having fun”, which is also true, but as an adult it does not really matter what you are doing. Life moves at the speed of light and you can miss it if you don’t stop to breathe every once in awhile. The two weeks that I have been home have been fun-filled and too fast. I feel like I just got home a few days ago and I am already leaving again.
But I know that these next 7 months will fly by as well, and that makes me sad too. When I started The Great Germany Adventure, August of 2019 seemed so far away and so scary. Now, it seems like my year blipped by. Luckily, I have some fun things planned for the rest of my time abroad, so you can rest assured that I will be taking advantage of every last moment on this journey.
I hope everyone had wonderful holidays and a New Year that is starting off incredibly. The New Year brings so much hope with it. I hope to improve and grow even more. I hope to strengthen relationships and reaffirm those that are already strong. I hope to embrace every day with grace and gratitude as I am blessed with adventures. And I hope that you all accomplish everything you wish to.
The next time I write will be from Heidelberg. Until then, Bon Voyage America! Again!

Have a great 2019 Meg’s, we look forward to your blogs. Travel safe, make the most of your travels in Germany.
